Crystal holds a degree in Theater from the University of South Florida. In addition, Crystal ​trained at SAK Comedy Lab in Orlando, and was awarded a scholarship to the Gilda ​Radner Funny Women Festival at the renowned Second City in Chicago.

Attending the Artistic New Directions Improv Intensive in New York, Crystal learned from ​the best, including Second City and LA Groundlings performers, as well as former ​Saturday Night Live writers. In addition, she studied with the famed iO Theater in Chicago.


In 2009, Crystal founded the Dear Aunt Gertrude Improv Team, at The Box Theater, ​where she performed and directed. The troupe had the honor of opening for NYC’s ​Upright Citizen’s Brigade Touring Company and has performed at various improv ​festivals. Crystal now leads trainings in corporate settings where she trains participants on ​how to apply the principles of improvisation.


Her rich theater career includes being the former Program Manager for The Patel ​Conservatory at The David A. Straz Center for the Performing Arts, as well as serving as a ​teaching artist and director in their education program. She has been a teaching artist ​with with Ruth Eckerd Hall and The Mahaffey Theater and has taught at The University of ​South Florida. She also taught and performed for more than 25 years. If it sounds like ​she’s passionate about improv, it’s because she is.
